There are lots of things to do in Plymouth for visitors of all ages. Plymouth Hoe is steeped in history and has fantastic views across Plymouth Sound and out to sea. The Plymouth Dome is situated on Plymouth Hoe and is an exhibition of the life in Plymouth past and present, rates are very competitive and it offers a great day out for all. Plymouth is the largest city in Devon and boasts an excellent variety of shops including National Chain stores as well as a number of specialist shops selling a variety of well priced goods. Also in the City you will find the Theatre Royal, City Museum and Art Gallery and a number of public houses, cafes and restaurants. Sea lovers can take luxury pleasure cruises around Plymouth Sound and up the River Tamar taking in breath taking views along the way. See Royal Naval Vessels close by as you sail past the Plymouth Naval Dockyards at Devonport and sail right under Isambard Kindom Brunel's Royal Albert Bridge. Just a few miles north of Plymouth near Yelverton you will find Buckland Abbey - home of Sir Francis Drake. Now cared for by the National Trust, Buckland Abbey comprises a wonderful house, gardens, gift shop and restaurant. Take a short drive out of the busy City centre of Plymouth and you will find yourself in the wilderness of Dartmoor National Park. Here you can visit a number of small Devonshire villages and of course see Dartmoor High Security Prison at Princetown.
