There are plenty of things to do for all ages in Paignton and the surrounding area. Paignton Zoo is set in a spectacular, seventy-five acre natural setting. Over £6m has been spent creating one of the best zoos in the country. Paignton Zoo Environmental Park is a registered education and scientific charity dedicated to conserving our global wildlife heritage. You will find a menagerie of animals at the zoo including giraffes, Asian and African elephants, monkeys, apes, cheetahs, lions, tigers, pandas and much more. Visitors to Paignton can enjoy a trip on the Paignton to Dartmouth Steam Railway. Running for seven miles along Torbay, the railway runs through wooded slopes to the River Dart to Kingswear where you can board a ferry across the river to Dartmouth. If you enjoy walking then the cliff top walk round Roundham Point between Paignton Harbour and Goodrington is a must offering spectacular views to both ends of the bay.

Inland walks, through the lakes of Clenon Valley and the wetlands of Occombe take you through fascinating areas of national importance for wildlife. At night Paignton sea front comes alive with illuminations and is perfect for an evening stroll.

The opening of a multi million pound multiplex cinema on the sea front and the redevelopment of The Palace Theatre has providing Paignton with some excellent new facilities.

Quay West Water Park is situated just behind the long sandy beach of Goodrington, with its' half a mile of water slides. Quay West's outdoor water pools are heated to a tropical 80 Degrees Fahrenheit.

Nearby you will find Grand Prix Go Karts and Bumper Boats.

Local buses operated by Stagecoach Devon serve the popular nearby resorts of Torquay and Brixham at regular intervals. Local train services are available to the larger shopping towns of Newton Abbot, Exeter and Plymouth.
