Paignton is the family style resort of the English Riviera lying in the middle of Torquay and Brixham.

Paignton pier stretches far out into the sea and was originally built by the Victorians for the many visitors to the town. The pier houses an amusement centre and arcade, snack bars, gift shops and an outdoor area with trampolines for young children. You can fish from the end of the Pier.

Paignton Green plays host to several events throughout the year. These events include fun fairs, carnivals, firework displays, shows, music and festivals. Annual events include Torbay Carnival and Paignton Regatta and the Radio 1 Roadshow.

Paignton has numerous sandy beaches and small coves. Paignton Sands is a flat sandy beach with shallow water situated close to the town centre and surrounding the pier. This is the longest beach in the resort. Preston Sands is a popular sandy beach lined with multi-coloured beach huts. Broadsands is a large, mainly sandy beach in a rural setting and has a Seaside Award and Clean Beach Status. Broadsands is popular with water skiers as this sheltered pebbly cove has deep water. In the heart of the Quay West resort area, Goodrington Sands has a a large sandy beach served with excellent facilities and water sports.

A walk around Paignton's pretty harbour is a must for all visitors to the resort.
