Exeter, Devon
The City of Exeter is one of the oldest cities in England. Founded by the Romans, in around AD 50, they built a fortress overlooking the River Exe accommodating around 5,000 people.
Today, Exeter is the county town of Devon, comprising of around 600 shops ranging from large department stores to small boutiques, markets and antique shops.

Just 5 minutes away from the Cathedral is Exeter's historic quayside. Situated on the River Exe, the Quayside was once a roman waterway then later a 16th century port. Canoes and pedalo's are available for hire, alternatively you may wish to take a relaxing riverside walk. The Quay House Visitor Centre is open from April to October showing the history and development of the quayside.
