There are lots of things to do in Brixham, both on and off land. Its sheltered waters are ideal for all kinds of boats. You can take a boat trip across Torbay to Torquay and Paignton, or a trip along the coast to Dartmouth. There are a number of fishing trips to choose from just as you would expect from this traditional fishing port. Specialist wreck and shark fishing is also available.

Brixham has excellent facilities for yachting, and Brixham Yacht Club organise regular events.

Life back on dry land is also as exciting or can be much more relaxed. Take a gentle stroll around the harbour simply admiring the views of the numerous vessels that are moored there or watch the fisherman unloading their daily catch.

There are numerous beaches around Brixham. Fishcombe and Churston Cove are two quiet, small sandy beaches ideal for children to play safely. Shoalstone Beach is a popular sunbathing spot. It is also home to an open air sea water swimming pool - the only one in the English Riviera. St Mary's Bay is a long, mostly sandy beach with safe swimming - many visitors use this beach for beachcombing and exploring the many rockpools. In contrast, Breakwater Beach is a large pebble beach that is sheltered by the man-made break water. Breakwater Beach is within easy reach of the centre of Brixham.

Brixham is surrounded by glorious Devon coastal scenery. Berry Head Country Park is perched high on the cliff tops offering spectacular views of Torbay and beyond. The lighthouse at Berry Head is unique for being the highest (200 feet above sea level) and the smallest in Britain. There are a number of regular walks, talks, tours and events organised at Berry Head.

Brixham harbour houses a spectacular replica of Francis Drake's famous ship and welcomes visitors aboard. Get a real feel for life at sea in the 16th century along the sails, masts and rigging. Below deck there are scenes as it used to be back then.

Brixham has an 18,000 gallon aquarium which holds marine creatures exclusively from British waters, including Octopus, Squid, Rays and Sharks.

Brixham has its own museum telling the story of the English Riviera's oldest town from the Stone Age through to the present day.
